Square Saucers

Squares are square sagger ceramic kiln furniture made from high-purity quartz, mullite, corundum, and other refractory materials using modern ceramic processing techniques. They possess core properties such as high-temperature resistance, thermal shock resistance, and chemical corrosion resistance, and are widely used in the calcination and sintering processes of industrial ceramics, magnetic materials, lithium battery cathode materials, and rare earth powder materials.

As containers for loading materials, square squares can be stacked tightly in continuous kilns such as roller kilns and tunnel kilns, achieving significantly higher space utilization than round squares, making them particularly suitable for large-scale continuous industrial production.

Product Features

  1. High Space Utilization, Increased Production Capacity

The square structure allows for seamless stacking within the kiln, resulting in high loading density and superior unit capacity compared to round saggers. It is particularly suitable for mass production in continuous kilns such as roller kilns and tunnel kilns.

  1. Optimal Materials, Wide Temperature Range

A variety of materials are available, including high-purity quartz (SiO₂≥99.86%, temperature resistance ≤1680℃), mullite (60~70% alumina, temperature resistance ≤1600℃), and corundum (99% alumina, temperature resistance ≤1750℃), allowing for flexible selection based on operating conditions.

  1. High Strength, Reliable Thermal Shock Resistance

High compressive strength at room temperature; the corundum-mullite material boasts a compressive strength exceeding 80MPa. Stable thermal shock resistance; some products can withstand more than 10 cycles of water cooling at 1100℃ without damage.

  1. Smooth Surface, Not Easily Sheds Slag

After high-temperature densification and sintering, the crucible has a smooth inner wall and a flat bottom. It does not accumulate slag or material during high-temperature use, which can effectively prevent cross-contamination of calcined materials and ensure product purity.

  1. Resistant to Chemical Corrosion, Long Service Life

Exhibits excellent corrosion resistance to acids, alkalis, and various melts. The new anti-corrosion crucible exhibits significantly improved corrosion resistance in harsh environments (such as 900℃ molten salt), extending its service life several times compared to traditional products.

Application Areas

  • Lithium-ion Battery Cathode Material Calcination: Sintering support for powder materials such as lithium cobalt oxide, ternary materials, lithium manganese oxide, and lithium iron phosphate.
  • Magnetic Materials and Electronic Ceramics: Used for the sintering of magnetic materials and electronic ceramic components; exhibits good chemical stability and does not slag.
  • Industrial Ceramics and Powder Sintering: Calcination and heat treatment of materials such as alumina ceramics, ceramic pigments, kaolin, rare earth elements, and activated carbon.
  • Abrasives and Grinding Industry: Sintering of abrasives, grinding tools, and grinding balls; low iron content avoids product contamination.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

  1. How to choose between square and round saggers?

It depends on the application scenario. Square saggers have high space utilization and high loading density, making them suitable for continuous, high-volume production in roller kilns, tunnel kilns, etc.; round saggers have more uniform thermal stress distribution and better thermal shock resistance, making them suitable for small-batch, high-requirement, or experimental firing.

  1. Which high-temperature furnace equipment is this suitable for?

This product is suitable for box furnaces, muffle furnaces, tube furnaces, vacuum furnaces, atmosphere furnaces, induction melting furnaces, and various laboratory high-temperature heating equipment.

  1. Is the product prone to cracking?

Fused silica has a low coefficient of thermal expansion and good thermal shock resistance, exhibiting good crack resistance under reasonable usage conditions.

  1. Do you support custom sizes?

Yes, we can customize production according to customer-provided size requirements, drawings, or samples.

  1. Are there other material options besides quartz?

We can provide ceramic crucibles made of different materials such as fused silica and alumina, depending on actual process requirements.
