Porous Saggers for Calcination of 5N Alumina and Indium Oxide Ceramic Powders

These porous high-alumina saggers are made from high-purity alumina (≥99.9%) and low-sodium white corundum as main raw materials, sintered at an ultra-high temperature of 1800℃. They are specifically designed for the high-temperature calcination process of 5N (99.999%) grade high-purity alumina, indium oxide, and other ceramic powders. The binder uses low-ash raw materials (ash content ≤0.01%), strictly controlling impurities from the source. Sufficient high-temperature sintering stabilizes the activity of Al₂O₃, achieving a low coefficient of thermal expansion and very high chemical purity. The effective porous structure acts as a siphon effect to assist in drainage and binder removal during low-temperature calcination of the powder, achieving the most thorough and effective removal of organic matter and ensuring the calcination quality of high-purity ceramic powders.

Product Features

  1. Ultra-high purity, no powder contamination

Using high-purity alumina (≥99.9% Al₂O₃ content) and low-sodium white corundum as raw materials, with a binder ash content ≤0.01%, impurities are strictly controlled from the source, ensuring no contamination of the high-purity powder during calcination.

  1. Ultra-high temperature sintering at 1800℃, stable structure

The product undergoes ultra-high temperature sintering at 1800℃, fully stabilizing the activity of Al₂O₃ and achieving a low coefficient of thermal expansion, ensuring dimensional stability and preventing cracking of the sagger during repeated high-temperature calcination.

  1. Effective porous structure, thorough binder removal

The sagger possesses an effective porous structure, generating a siphon effect to assist in drainage and binder removal during the low-temperature calcination stage of the powder, achieving the most thorough and effective removal of organic matter and improving powder purity.

  1. Low coefficient of thermal expansion, good thermal shock resistance

With a low coefficient of thermal expansion and excellent thermal shock resistance, it can withstand frequent temperature cycles without cracking, resulting in a long service life.

5. High-Temperature Strength, No Deformation

Maintains good structural strength under ultra-high temperature calcination conditions, remaining unchanged and undamaged during long-term use, ensuring the stability and consistency of the powder calcination process.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

  1. What is the purity of this product’s material?

The product uses high-purity alumina with an Al₂O₃ content ≥99.9% and low-sodium white corundum as raw materials. The binder ash content is ≤0.01%, ensuring high overall purity and preventing contamination of the high-purity powder during calcination.

  1. Why is the product subjected to ultra-high temperature calcination at 1800℃?

Ultra-high temperature calcination at 1800℃ fully stabilizes the activity of Al₂O₃, reduces the coefficient of thermal expansion, improves the dimensional stability and thermal shock resistance of the product, and ensures that it does not crack or deform during repeated calcination.

  1. What role does the porous structure play in the calcination process?

The effective porous structure generates a siphon effect to assist in water drainage and binder removal during low-temperature calcination of the powder, helping to remove organic matter more thoroughly and effectively, thus improving powder purity.

  1. Is this product suitable for calcining 5N alumina powder?

Yes. The product is designed with high purity in mind from raw materials to processing, meeting the stringent purity requirements of the saggers for calcining 5N-grade high-purity alumina powder.

  1. What is the product’s service life?

The product is fired at an ultra-high temperature of 1800℃, resulting in a stable structure, low coefficient of thermal expansion, and good thermal shock resistance. Under normal operating conditions, it has a long service life. The specific service life depends on the operating conditions; please consult a sales engineer.
